What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- The Core Academic Skills battery is three separate tests, each passed on its own. It is easy to read "Core" as a single exam and budget for one sitting.
- At 145, Special Education: Foundational Knowledge (5355) has the lowest content cut score of the Nevada roles mapped here.
- Nevada issues several distinct special education endorsements. Autism, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Intellectual Disabilities and Visual Impairments each carry their own content test, so confirm your endorsement before registering.
- Nevada requires the Praxis tests to have been completed within ten years before you apply. Older passing scores do not carry over, which catches career changers returning to the classroom.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- An approved educator preparation program, traditional or alternative
- Fingerprinting and a background check, and application to the Office of Educator Licensure
Now go pass them.
Knowing the list is the easy part. Built To Pass teaches the strategy layer that works on any of these, aimed at the domains where you are actually losing points.
