What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- Special Education fields take Application of the Science of Reading (418), the same literacy assessment as elementary.
- Special Education carries an extra prerequisite. Rule 505-2-.26 requires the academic content concentration to be met first, by assessment or by GaTAPP provider verification.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- A GaPSC-approved or GaPSC-accepted educator preparation program, including GaTAPP
- Georgia certification application through MyPSC
- An academic content concentration, verified or assessed, before converting to a Professional certificate
