What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- Arizona runs two passing scores at once. Arizona custom tests (AEPA codes) pass at 240, NES tests pass at 220, and both sit on the same 100 to 300 scale. Check which family your test belongs to before setting a target, because the same-looking number means different things.
- Choose the professional knowledge test matching the level you will teach: NT051 for elementary, NT052 for secondary.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- An approved educator preparation program, or an approved alternative path
- Fingerprint clearance card and application through ADE
Now go pass them.
Knowing the list is the easy part. Built To Pass teaches the strategy layer that works on any of these, aimed at the domains where you are actually losing points.
