What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- Michigan puts it plainly: both the Mathematics (7-12) test and a Professional Knowledge and Skills test (117, 121, 135, 136) are required for the EQ endorsement.
- Mathematics (Secondary) 022 is the old structure. A new candidate takes 131.
- Mathematics (5-9) is 133, a different endorsement. Check which band you are certifying in before you register.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- A Michigan-approved educator preparation program, traditional or alternative
- Application through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS)
Now go pass them.
Knowing the list is the easy part. Built To Pass teaches the strategy layer that works on any of these, aimed at the domains where you are actually losing points.
