Any one of the four Professional Knowledge and Skills subtests (117, 121, 135, 136) satisfies this. You never take more than one.

What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- English 002 is the old structure. A new candidate takes English Language Arts (7-12), code 130.
- English Language Arts (5-9) is 132, a different endorsement.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- A Michigan-approved educator preparation program, traditional or alternative
- Application through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS)
