What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- Core Subjects EC-6 was 291. The current test is 391.
- The Science of Teaching Reading exam is separate from the reading section inside 391. Passing 391 does not satisfy it.
Required, but not an exam
- A bachelor’s degree
- An approved educator preparation program, traditional or alternative
- Fingerprinting and a criminal history review
