Utah Foundations of Reading Assessment (UFORA)UFORA

What people get wrong

Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.

  • Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education all sit the same assessment at the same score, so clearing it covers the testing for any of them.
  • The Pedagogical Performance Assessment is no longer required. Utah dropped it on 10 June 2024, so guidance written before that date overstates what you owe.

Required, but not an exam

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • A USBE-approved preparation program, or an approved alternative route
  • Background check and application through USBE
