Nevada also accepts Education of Young Children (5024) at 155 or Early Childhood Education: Foundational Knowledge and Content (5534) at 157.
What people get wrong
Each of these costs a candidate either money or a test date.
- The Core Academic Skills battery is three separate tests, each passed on its own. It is easy to read "Core" as a single exam and budget for one sitting.
- Nevada accepts three different early childhood content tests, each with its own cut score: 5025 at 156, 5024 at 155, or 5534 at 157. Check which one your program expects before registering.
- Nevada requires the Praxis tests to have been completed within ten years before you apply. Older passing scores do not carry over, which catches career changers returning to the classroom.

- Fingerprinting and a background check, and application to the Office of Educator Licensure
